Giving back to the community is always a priority at Art Force. To help us do so, we created the Community Fund, where $1 from every work sold is contributed to a local charity or cause. We have supported a wide range of organizations over the past few years, including several food shelves, People Incorporated, Toys for Tots, Trinity Homes, and many others. We treasure our city and all it has to offer: as a business, we consistently work with and support local artists and vendors. Accordingly, we also aim to help this community and its members by contributing to local charities.
Simpson Housing Services
We recently utilized our community fund to support Simpson Housing Services. bdh + young, a design firm with which we work, significantly contributes to Simpson Housing Services and informed us of one of the organization’s fundraisers. Last month, Simpson hosted the event, Art4Shelter, at which local artists donated work, and the proceeds of the art sales raised money for Simpson. Due to various projects and deadlines, we were not able to participate in the fundraiser, but we still wanted to contribute to this important organization. Using our community fund, members of our team made a hefty trip to Costco to pick up a whole slew of essentials: diapers, towels, soap, deodorant, toothbrushes, underwear, as well as others. Summer is in full swing: temperatures are rising and kids are out of school, creating a particular need for hygienic essentials.
Simpson Housing strives to end homelessness. The organization provides support and services to those experiencing homelessness while also advocating against the social injustices that lead to poverty. Simpson has played a significant role in helping the Minneapolis community. In 2014, they served over 3,000 people and housed over 1,000. They continue to make great strides in the community; we are happy to have contributed to such an essential organization!
