In this new exhibition at Kolman & Pryor Gallery, artists present works done outside of their comfort zone, working in smaller format to explore the topic of scale and size. Large-scale works became popular in the United States, largely due to the rise of Abstract Expressionism in the 194os. In response to this “bigger is better” attitude, Kolman and Pryor decided to turn to a much smaller format of art, inviting some of the gallery’s artists, as well as guest artists, to create works that are six inches or smaller.
